To be a model you need more than just your pretty face. You need discipline and talent on top of a perfect body for you to become a very successful model. It is actually very rare to find someone with model potential. If you think you have what it takes to be a model, the first thing you are going to need is a portfolio of past work, that will take their breath away. A portfolio of past work is a good way to show an agency that you have the ability to be a true model, rather than just wasting their time. Knowing how to make this portfolio is not an easy task and takes a whole lot of effort. Perfection is what you are striving for. The structure of your pose, the lighting, what your body says,and the emotions that you evoke are all part of what you need to master in order to become a model and your portfolio must display that you have the potential in all of these areas. Modeling is more than just being attractive, but becoming a representation of a product.
You want them to keep coming back for more. If it takes times to study yourself in a mirror to master this, then that is what you have to do. In the industry that is modeling, you are competing against the perfect bodies. You have to show that you are the best candidate, above all. Know how to sell yourself and go after the market that works best for you. The wrong market could end up in an embarrassing blunder for everyone involved.
The skill of the photographer is essential. Remember that companies want to make sure that their models are worth the investment and put something into it too.
You need to prove that you are giving it your all. That means do not pick any kind of camera, with your mom taking the shots. Invest in a professional photographer and one that works in the modeling industry. Be careful when selecting a photographer. While there is always room for improvement, your second best is never an option. If you have the ability, the pictures, and the ability to make that commitment, you probably have what it takes to be a model.
